Beaches, The movie

"I know everything there is to know about you. And my memory is long, very, very long." When CC gets up to go in the house, Hilary looks off into the distance and says "I'm counting on it..."

"Friends come and go but there is always one you're stuck with for life."

I can count on one hand the people who fall into this catagory for me. How about you?

Still working on Potty Training

We did everything that we were supposed to for the three days and it was going great. Leo was waking up dry from naps and in the morning and was dry in the day. I thought I had this thing Down. Let me tell you, I was wrong. He doesn't want to do it anymore. I am stuck. I take him to the bathroom every 30 min and things go ok. But if you don't remind him to go, he just pees where he is. And he is nolonger dry in bed. He will just smile at you and then pee. Yet if you put him on the toilet, he will go. I don't know what I am doing wrong. We tried the whole reward thing. He grew tired of stickers. I don't want to give him a toy everytime he goes pee. I just don't know what to do. Help...

Sleep

Richard is off on a sleep study again tonight. I know that I should be in bed sleeping as Leo will be up at 6am if I am lucky. But the thought of sleeping alone in my big old bed just bums me out. We have been together for 6 years now and just the thought of sleeping alone makes me consider dealing with the consequeses of not sleeping. I was reading a friends post and she was talking about a couple who were in their 80's and had been together for 60 + years. That sure is a long time to not sleep alone.

Life as I though it would be.

I remember thinking that being a stay at home mom was going to be a piece of cake. I would do some light house keeping, watch tv, play with the kids and just hang out. Boy was I wrong. Being a stay at home mom is just as much work as a full time job. There is laundry, dishes, and all of the rest of the house keeping. Then there is my budget. For those of you who have not heard of this, it is a major time consumer of mine. Then there is the Lands Of Opportunity business that Richard and I both run. And last but certainly not least, there is the kids. I told Richard that he has one job. And I have so many hats to wear that sometimes I think I am not going to be able to fit through the door because they are going to be knocked off.

Can you just imagine the racket they would make.

A friend of mine once commented that it was hard to have a conversation with me because I was never just in friend mode. I would be talking to her, stop help the kids, stop talk to her, stop help Richard, stop make dinner, stop and then get back to her. I remember watching my grandmother. She always seemed to have it all covered. Her hats never seemed to be on the verge of collapsing. I wonder how she did it.
